Autumn Term Curriculum Overview

Week ending 15th November 2024

This week we have been reading The Very Helpful Hedgehog.

We had a visit from Heather, the hedgehog lady and learnt lots about hedgehogs.

Did you know that hedgehogs only breathe once every 30 mins when they are hibernating and they eat bees, worms and ladybirds but not slugs or spiders?

We made hedgehog bread rolls.

Week ending 25th October

 

This week we have been reading 'My Pet Star'. We have been doing lots of talking about how we can look after each other.

We also made star cookies. They were delicious!

Week ending 18.10.24

This week we have enjoyed reading the Colour Monster stories and talking about our feelings.

 

This week in Panda class we are celebrating the achievements of: Oskar, Aaron and Noah.

In Axolotl class we are celebrating the achievements of: Olivier, Scarlet and Aronas

This week in Panda class we are celebrating the achievements of: Noah, Aaron and Ethan

This week we have been learning about circles and spheres. We have been painting circles in the style of Kandinsky.

We have also been working together to transport new sand to our sandpit.

Week ending 20th September

 

This week we have been practising our letter formation in our phonics sessions.

We have also been using plasticine to strengthen our finger muscles to help us with our writing.

In maths we have been learning about squares, rectangles, cubes and cuboids.

We have enjoyed lots of creative activities and some of us even enjoyed a foot spa in the roleplay area.

Week ending 13th September

This week we have been learning about birthdays. We added our birthdays to the class calendars and talked about how  birthdays are celebrated. We engaged in  lots of different activities. Please  have a look at the photos below. We are becoming more familiar with the routines at school and  have enjoyed  new experiences, going into the hall for PE and meeting Mrs Collingwood for music.

Week ending 6th September

This week we have been welcoming our new children to Foundation Stage. We have been learning the routines of the classroom and settled in. Thank you to all the parents who have already sent in the 'All About Me' books and the Jelly homework.

 

This term our topic is called 'The You-ness of You'.  We are looking forward to learning about what makes us special and unique. Please follow our learning on here.
