Young Carers

Young Carers

 

A Young Carer is any child who lives in a household with:

 

  • Parent/Sibling/other family member with a physical disability
  • Parent/Sibling/other family member with mental health needs
  • Parent/Sibling/other family member with drug or alcohol misuse issues
  • Parent/Sibling/other family member with serious/chronic health conditions

 

Young Carers do not have to be involved directly in the care of that person, but it may be that their lives are impacted due to the wider caring needs of the family.

 

Please contact Jo Fiabane Pastoral Support Champion via email - pastoral@glebelands.cambs.sch.uk or speak to the office if you think your child may be a young carer. They can be supported in school and also a referral made to "Young Carers" where they can access a Young Carers Assessment, join groups and go on outings.
