We had a great start to this half term with a visit to the Raptor Foundation. We had a great time and learnt lots more about owls.
Friday 27th September
This week has been a rather soggy one with lots of rain. Please make sure your child has a coat so that they can enjoy the playground in all weathers. Wellies are also a good idea this time of year for the field at lunchtime.
English - We have been looking at independent clauses as well as subject, verbs and leftovers.

Maths - We are continuing to look at numbers to 100. We have been partitioning numbers this week using lots of equipment.
Computing - We have been thinking about information technology and how it helps us to do jobs and play. We have also logged on to purple mash so look out for our log in details.
Friday 20th September
We have had a very busy week and we are now fully in the swing of things. We have continued to learn all about living things and have loved finding out about food chains. In English, we are learning all about subject and verbs which will really help with our sentence writing. In Maths, we have continued to learn all about of multiples of ten and how we can add and subtract them.
Friday 13th September
Welcome back to school and the start of Year 2!
Swallows class has had a great first full week back and we are all settling in nicely. In English, we have been learning all about nouns and verbs. We now know how to identify common and proper nouns. In Maths, we are getting to grips with multiples of 10 and how to add them, estimate where they would sit on a number line and how they can be represented in different ways. Science has been great fun and we have been learning all about living things and their habitats. We have been using the acronym MRS GREN to help us decide if something is living.
