Week beginning: 2nd June
On Wednesday 4th June, we ventured in to London to watch 'Wicked' performed at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. The show was amazing and loved by all. We were very impressed with the behaviour of the children: they were a pleasure to take out for the day.
Week beginning: 19th May
This week, we have been studying the art work of Terry Gilecki. As part of this, we have explored different ways of creating water effects and depth within water using a range of mediums: salt, oil, wax, pastels, felt pens and watercolours. After creating our own paintings, we then created a batik piece of artwork. We used melted hot wax and a Tjanting (a special tool which holds the hot wax and allows you to draw with it) to create the outline of our koi carp designs onto fabric. We then used watered down paint to stain the fabric. The wax resisted the paint leaving the design visible.
Week Beginning: 12th May
This week has been SATs week. We are immensely proud of the children for arriving at school each day with a positive attitude and a determination to do their very best.
At the end of the week, the children had a well-deserved day of fun at The Playground. They climbed over walls, conquered obstacles, navigated a wall of tyres, ran up a wall and even waded through water filled ditches. Great fun was had by all!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
