Spring

Spring 2

We have had a very busy start to the half-term.

On Tuesday 4th March we had a visit from published poet, Debra Burtulis. The children spent some time with Debra creating their own poems based on 'Lion's Diary'. This was a poem that Debra had written with the children during the session.

Thursday 6th March was World Book Day. The day saw the children dress up as book characters and complete some learning around the book 'Here Be Giants' by Susannah Lloyd. They were given some clues about the book before it was revealed to them. After reading the story, they thought about what they would take with them if they were a knight going on a perilous quest. They then drew themselves as knights before thinking about the places they would visit on their quest and drawing maps.

Spring 1

We have had a great start to the Spring Term and have been doing some amazing learning.

In English, we have been exploring the story of Hansel and Gretel. We then designed our own Candy Houses

and wrote descriptions all about them.

In Geography, we have been comparing London and Nairobi. We have enjoyed learning lots of new vocabulary and what these words mean. These include continent, urban, climate and human/physical features.
