On Tuesday, four of our pupils attended Lionel Walden Primary School to compete in the Year 6 English Challenge. Although they didn't get through to the next round, they worked really hard and represented the school brilliantly. Well done!
Each year, we hold the Glebelands Picture Book Awards where the Norfolk Children's Book Centre carefully select a collection of the newest and best picture books for us. We then share these books across the school and vote for which one is our favourite. This year, not only did we do this as a school but all of the schools in the Diamond Learning Partnership Trust joined in too. On Tuesday, we were joined online by the winning author, Neil Sharpson, who wrote 'Don't Trust Fish!' This book was the favourite for both Glebelands and the Trust. Neil answered questions from some of the pupils and also shared his inspiration for his book and the writing process. We are looking forward to his next picture book which should hopefully be released later in the year.

We really enjoyed using well-known artwork to inspire our trainer designs. They look great on the display.
This week, we also had an active maths lesson. We worked in pairs to solve problems and showed great resilience and determination.

In English this week, we have continued to study the narrative poem, The Highwayman, by Alfred Noyes. We will be writing internal monologues in the role of one of the characters form the poem.
This week, we have also continued learning about the Windrush in history. We found about two Windrush pioneers: Sam King MBE and Norma Best. We worked in groups to summarise what we have found out during this topic and to show how the Windrush generation changed Britain for the better.
